Four mountaineering instructors from Manali mountaineering institute climbed this mountain and used the first alphabet of their name to come up with INCH. Inch Peak is not a very challenging peak but its technical sections can test even experienced adventurers. Read More

Itinerary of Expedition
You will reach Manali in the morning as buses from Delhi, Chandigarh and Dehradun travel during the night and reach their destination in the morning. After reaching Manali you will move towards the hotel/ guest house assigned to you by Himalayan Adventure Trips. Check in to your hotel and freshen up after which you shall be greeted by a representative from HAT. Who will collect your photo ID and declaration forms. A thorough briefing session will be held for Inch Peak Expedition. After all the permits and briefing sessions have been taken care of you can enjoy the rest of the day exploring Manali and its rich culture. Overnight stay at Hotel.
The journey to the summit of Inch Peak begins today. Soon after breakfast we will board our vehicles and depart for Chatru where the road ends and the travel on foot will begin. The drive to Chatru is absolutely scenic from the lush green mountains of Kullu valley to the desolate cold desert of Lahaul and Spiti. The scenery completely transforms as you leave Kullu valley through Atal tunnel. Previously we would have had to climb all the way to Rohtang pass and then descend down Lahaul. From Chatru you will get a good view of the Chandra Bhaga ranges. Overnight stay in Chatru
The major aspect of a successful mountaineering expedition in the Himalayas is acclimating your body to the change in altitude and temperature. So we take this day to explore Chatru and go through a proper acclimatization process. It is important to follow all aspects of acclimatization like drinking at least 4-5 liters of fluids everyday, consuming hot and nutritious food provided to you by Himalayan Adventure trips and most of all take ample rest as high altitude can exert your body. Overnight stay in Chatru.
Wake up in the picturesque setting of Chatru and get yourself ready as the journey on foot will begin from today. Soon after breakfast we will take all our equipment and gear and depart for the base camp. The terrain is rugged and almost alien-like as Lahaul is a high altitude cold desert with rocky and dusty trails. From Chatru we will go towards the Nallah crossing where we will go on the other side and from there climb to the base camp. The ascent is mostly steep with a few gradual climbs in between. We will take halts in between to not strain our body and also have our packed lunch which we will take from Chatru while starting. The final climb to the base camp is a steep and strenuous climb to test your will and determination for the journey ahead. After reaching the Base camp we will pitch our tents where we will spend the night. Enjoy the evening with the mesmerizing views around the campsite. Overnight stay in tents at Base camp.
After having breakfast we will distribute the load which we will carry up to the Advance Base camp. Any kind of ration, equipment or gear that is required for the expedition ahead needs to be carried by ourselves as mules can’t go beyond this point. Our trail today is going to be rocky and steep with tricky sections which require careful navigation and maneuvering. After reaching the Advance Base Camp we will pitch one tent and keep all the stock of equipment that we were carrying from the Base Camp. We will take some much needed rest at the ABC after the heavy load we had carried up till there. We will descend down to the base camp once again where we will stay overnight.
Any remaining equipment will also be carried by us to the ABC. We will take the same route we took the previous day and reach our campsite. After reaching ABC we will set up our campsite and prepare for the journey ahead. Overnight stay in tents at ABC.
We will carry some of our equipment and set up our Summit camp. The route to the summit camp is rocky and full of scree shoot area. You can also witness the massive glaciers on top of the high peaks of the area. We will set up our campsite and take as much rest as possible as the climb to the summit will start late at night even before the sun rises to get the best conditions possible for a summit.
The day we had all been preparing for has finally arrived and time to get into your boots and start to climb. We will wake up at midnight and start getting ready for the summit attempt. After a quick breakfast to give us energy for the climb, we will depart. The trek to the summit of Inch Peak involves negotiating several steep climbs, narrow ridges, and high-altitude passes, which requires physical fitness, endurance, and acclimatization to the altitude. The summit offers breathtaking views of the surrounding snow-capped peaks, including the famous Chandrabhaga Range. As we move towards the summit our body goes through serious hardship and we plan our march accordingly. After climbing to the summit, the view from the top is simply breathtaking and awe-inspiring to say the least. The massive peaks of the Chandra Bhaga ranges and the Batal region surround us. After taking a few pictures to back as memory and proof of the humongous task that we completed, we will descend back down to ABC. Enroute we will wind up our summit camp and make our way to the ABC. Rejoice and celebrate after reaching the campsite. Overnight stay in tents at ABC.
We reserve this day as a buffer day for the summit attempt if in any case the summit attempt is delayed due to bad weather or unfavorable conditions. An extra amount will be collected from all participants in case this day is used as the charges are not included in the package.
We will pack all our stuff at the Advance Base Camp including any kind of trash that we might have created during our stay there. We will take the same winding route in the alien-like terrain of Lahaul. We will touch down at the road head in late in the afternoon and set up our stay there.
Breakfast will be served at the campsite in Chatru. After which our vehicles will arrive to take us back to Manali. After reaching Manali we will check into our hotel. Welcome back to civilization and enjoy the comforts of a bed and hot shower which you might have been craving for these past few days while on the expedition. In the evening you can party and rejoice with your fellow team members in Manali after having a successful summit. Overnight stay in the Hotel at Manali.
Our journey has finally come to a close and after having breakfast we will check out from the hotel and we bid farewell until next time.

➽ Preparation for Expedition
During the wonderful Himalayan trek, mind, body, and spirit must all be overcome, as you well know. Precise preparation, with appropriate pliability of observing and confronting circumstances, is essential. Due to the difficulty and unpredictability of expeditions, participation is limited to those who have completed trekking at altitudes of at least 4,500 metres at least four to five times or have finished a Basic Mountaineering course.
The following are some considerations for the Expedition:
⦿ Physically – An Expedition requires a lot of physical endurance, therefore you should start working out a month before signing up for a programme. Strengthen your legs by jogging and working out regularly to increase your stamina. To better acclimatise to the environment and increase your resilience on the walk, you should give up smoking and undertake breathing exercises twice a day. Participate wholeheartedly in sports, Yoga, and other cardiovascular activities. Sometimes you have to climb for 20 hours straight, therefore you need to be ready to push yourself to the maximum, which is only possible with well-defined pre- and post-climb training.
⦿ Mentally –
As essential as physical training is for an Expedition, so too is mental preparation. Relax, enjoy your regular activities, and take care of yourself before embarking on an Adventure. Don't put yourself through mental anguish by making guesses or planning ahead for the Expedition. Get together with your closest pals to rejuvenate and refocus your thinking. After you join the March and meet the rest of the pack, you will find encouragement and excitement, proving that your pre-expedition preconceptions were unfounded. As you endure the hardships of the journey, both your mental and physical toughness will increase. Hence, as you make your way up to each campground, it's a good idea to pay attention to different sections of the body and actively relax them. Focus on the path or whatever perilous terrain you must carefully handle when climbing, and attempt to relax your body. Try out a few new walking techniques to add some fun to your commute that has nothing to do with getting anywhere. The best way to keep one's mind in good shape when travelling is to relax and enjoy the ride.
⦿ Technically –
Choose the right size of trekking or climbing shoes and walk with it, from a technical standpoint. Fill a 60-liter container. Carry as much as you can in your rucksack on a regular basis to become accustomed to walking lengthy distances with it. You should equip yourself with a trekking pole, water bottle, warm socks, thermals, fleece, feather jackets, cap, trousers, poncho, flip flops, and any necessary equipment like a power bank and camera (DSLR or digital camera). Get a sling and use it to perfect the primary knots you'll need for the ascent.
The rewards of a successful mountain ascent are well worth the effort required to reach the top, which may be as daunting as the mountain itself. The Himalayan Adventure Tours Expedition to Mighty Mountain Kang yatse awaits your honest participation.

Everything about our visit to Prashar lake was better than we could have imagined. From our initial contact with Himalayan Adventure Trips, we felt their genuine interest in learning about our group's goals and expectations, and our travels with them reinforced at every turn that they not only understood our requirements but also have the acute skill and expertise to achieve them. Having already had such a wonderful experience with this firm, I will be promoting a trek to Prashar lake to all my friends who share my passion for hiking and will specifically recommend that they work with this outfit. Absolutely fantastic; I have nothing but praise for it.
